What is Virtual AI Voice Gateway?




V. AI
is a high-performance software developed by Virtualnet that bridges traditional telephony systems (such as Asterisk or on-premise PBXs) with the most advanced Voice AI models via WebSockets.
It enables companies to deploy intelligent Voicebots using their own cost-effective phone lines, without the need to migrate to expensive cloud platforms.

It manages the generation and handling of Mark, Stop, and Answered events, allowing for development, testing, or internal implementations without reliance on external services.

How It Works?

Solution Operational FlowThe system operates as an intelligent orchestrator across 4 simultaneous phases:
  1. Cloud Activation: The AI engine sends a secure instruction (via WebSocket) to the Gateway, specifying the destination number and call parameters.
  2. Resource Orchestration: Before dialing, the Gateway reserves UDP audio ports and creates a virtual "conference bridge" within the Asterisk server to ensure the line is ready.
  3. Local Phone Dialing: The system instructs Asterisk to place the call using your existing SIP trunks (from your carrier of choice), ensuring call costs remain local rather than international.
  4. Real-Time Transmission (Native RTP): Once the customer answers, the Gateway activates the bi-directional audio stream. It converts the customer's voice (RTP) into data for the AI and vice versa, with latency under 200ms, enabling a fluid and natural conversation.
